the winter holiday is upon us assistants and anne, susanne and i have planned a little roadtrip adventure. we're leaving this saturday. woot woot! we're off to
strasbourg, france which is supposed to be a fantastic town on the border between france and germany and renowned for its christmas markets. this was one of the places that i really wanted to go to while i was here and i'm fortunate enough to be doing it right before christmas. then we're off to
nuremberg, germany where susanne's parents live to experience a truly german holiday. her parents are going out of the way to show us real german cuisine and have planned all kinds of german specialties. yum yum, i'm excited! i'm also excited to have beer and pretzels! :) we'll be in nuremburg for about 6 days, during which time we'll do some day trips to surrounding towns. after the celebration of jesus' birth has passed, anne and i will be off to
salzburg, austria for a couple of days before turning around to pick up susanne and heading back to laon on the 29th. with a couple days break, NEW YEARS IN PARIS!
now, the real reason for this post is this:
2009 Ford Fiesta. why fiesta you say, cause we're having a mexican themed party in the back the whole time. yea, you read right. mexican fiesta. we just made a reservation for this baby and anne and i will be driving it across france and germany. have i mentioned that it's
not automatic. ie,
manual. i'm pooping my pants a little.

jonathan, thank you for teaching me. this weekend we're gonna find out just how good your tutelage was. that's right, you're responsible for it all. i gave them your name and social security number for the insurance bit.

Haha when my friend and I come for spring break we're following a similar route - Paris, some border town, nuremberg, munich... and my sister and I went to salzburg this summer.
If you want something ridiculous, embarrassing, and über touristy all at once - go on the sound of music tour and belt out all the tunes on the 4 hour bus ride. Ask mags.. it's amazing :)
Have so much fun!! Post pictures, be fabulous, the usual :)

yea we were thinking about munich but decided not to go cause it would be impossible with a car (according to our german source) around the holidays...so, alas.
but your spring break sounds fantastic! you gonna rent a car?
Lizzy and I had a Fiesta in France, I was actually quite impressed by the little car.
